This may be extremely coincidental, but, I have both the names that you mention in my family history. But I cannot get an exact match with what you have provided. My ggg-grandfather was Henry Elwood and one of his sons was named Efriam. Henry was born in New York state, in Montgomery County. Other children of Henry (and his wife Catherine) were Darius (my gg-grandfather), Mary, and Asa. My grandfater, Earl Elwood (his father's name was also Henry - my g-grandfather), was married to Margaret(Meta) Whitehead but, I do not know of an Alice Whtehead anywhere in my background. Please let me know if this is useful and maybe we can explore this further.
