Yes that James C. Elwood is found in the 1850 census at age 33 with wife Jane age 32 living in West Salem Mercer County PA. There were a few children: Thomas, John and an undecipherable name.
I don't believe any of our branch migrated to Mercer County so I can find no connection with my Elwoods. Our James Elwood (b 1818) who left home in the 1839 remains unaccounted for.
