My G Grandfather was born 8-31-1892 James Franklin Elwood, in ChoctawNation County. His father's name on the Death certificate is Alex Elwood birthplace Texas(?). I don't know why it says that it was Texas, but there is also no Maiden name of James' mother. Her name was Elizabeth. From what I am told my gg grandpa moved w/ the family from OK, for some reason. This same reason still exists w/ my great aunt who will not and does not like to mention anything about herself or father being Indian. I hope that doesn't confuse you. Weird thing about what had said about Frank's father HAVING THE NAME OF 'buck'. My mother has always said something about the name 'Buckholder'. Any how I know that there are not any Elwoods on the final rolls, which is what they go by for determining your 'status'. I know that my GGgandparents did not want to sign the rolls and that is why they left. But if one of their relatives did it could help for status reasons. I just want to know more about Alex's brothers & sisters. I hope that I have been of some help. Hobie BLackhorn
