Descendants of William of Westmoreland

I recently found a reference on the "Historic Pittsburgh" website that says that the site of Duff's Blockhouse, a Revolutionary War fort, was located on William Elwood's homestead. I am going to try and confirm this with the people at the Murraysville Historic Society later this year, in the spring. If thats true then that is two Revolutionary War Fort sites that were owned by our ancestors.

My great great grandfather, John Wylie Elwood owned the property named the "old Fort Hand farm". The property was actually adjacent to the property where the Fort actually stood, there is no trace of the Fort there today. Except for a marker placed there by the Daughters of the American Revolution. My great great grandmother's parents, the Kerns, owned the site of the old Fort Hand farm.
