My husband's grandfather was William James Elwood born we think in Framlington Suffolk in England in about 1877. He came to Canada as a boy of 15 perhaps as one of the Home Children. We are not sure of that but he had never talked of any family although my father in law heard he may have had some relatives in the Trenton Ontario area. WJ Elwood was married to a Lydia Murphy( or Boothman). We think she came to Canada as a child as well. They met and married in Quebec and had 2 children Freda and William George Elwood ( my father in law)That is most of the information I have right now but am working on it. William James served in the Military for most of his life and retired as a Captain.
