I will have to stop by the Apollo Cemetary to see if there is a middle initial on the stone that marks where John Elwood buried, it is a huge monument, it must stand 20 feet high. I don't want to try and remember what year was on the monument. I have dozen of Elwood gravestones in my memory and I constantly get them confused, his is hard to forget though. The reason I say that is that was under the impression that this was the grave of John Elwood, son of William the Revolutionary War soldier. I am very hesitant to say for sure because of the large number of children that George had, it gets very confusing. If that is the case, then it is most likely that John, son of William is buried either in Saltsburg or Clarksburg, PA. I have not found the gravesite at Saltsburg and spent a great deal of time searching for it. I am inclined to believe that his was one of the graves that were disturbed when a garage owner decided to expand his garage into the old cemetary a few years back. The firehall (all volunteers) also expanded into the cemetary. The Firehall Volunteers expanded into where the Cemetary was, but they did a very interesing and clever Public Relations campaign that involved taking pictures that put all the blame on the owners of the garage. At least thats what the scuttlebutt is, and it appears to hold water if you go back into the old cemetary. It is a crying shame to see it. I think one of Pennsylvania's early Supreme Court Justices is buried there too, one of the McKee's. But what do I know...it could be one of his distant relatives. Take Care.
