I've newly found this site, and hope that someone may be able to help with "missing" relatives, that I cannot find any further information on.
1. Mary Ann Elvidge (nee Cannon) was the second wife of Charles Francis Elvidge, born 1854 Hackney. They married 1884 at Camberwell. Charles Francis died in Ilkley in 1897, and the last trace of Mary Ann was on the 1901 census when she was working as a Book Binder, living with her own three children. She refused to have any further contact with the rest of the family. I have since made contact through GR with a descendant of the man who married one of her daughters, but that is all we know.
2. Diana Elvidge is/was the natural daughter of Lilian Elvidge, last heard about living in the Eastbourne area around 1998, I think in a retirement home, but the family have had no contact for many years. There was a family rift, unfortunately. Diana never married.
If anyone has any information I would be so grateful to hear. And, of course, if anyone wishes to know about the Elvidges of York, please contact me.
