My name is Cliff Elvidge and I am researching the Elvidge surname. My grandfather Henry was born in Caunton. His mother was Mary Ann Elvidge, the daughter of Elizabeth. Elizabeth was the daughter of George Elvidge and his fourth wife, Ann Holt.
I think your Henry was the grandson of George and his second wife Mary Ann Howson and the son of George and Sarah Hodgson.
According to my relationship chart that would make Elizabeth and George (Henrys father) siblings (stepbrother and sister and Henry and Mary Ann first cousins.
Any information that you have on the Caunton Elvidge family would be most welcome.
