My Elvidge roots are in the Doncaster area.
While I do not have the link you are looking for I am lost in a line that must run in parallel. My Elvidge line is centred in Cantly and I am back to a Thomas Elvidge born 1795 and Mary Moat 1799. His parents are William Elvidge (Elivus)1775 and Hannah Guest but so far I have not found where they came from so I am stuck. Some of their children were born in Hatfield but no luck there. From the Cantley Parish records he was a gamekeeper at Top Hall.
In my searching in Cantley records I found Thomas Elvidge 1808 married to Ann Chester in 1832 and in the 1851 cencus they had 8 children. His fathers name was Charles married to Mary Simpson. On the 1881 cencus shows them in Cantley with daughter Elily (Emma) age 32. I have this birth certificate 6 April 18, shows them living at Cantley Lodge and Thomas a gardener,
I noted the family as there must be a link somewhere. Sorry I cannot directly help but maybe our sharing will help in moving the search forward.
