Hi Mark
Thanks for taking the time to reply. Since I posted the original message, I have found the census returns that Gary has posted on the board. The William Elton and Jane shown there are definitely the parents of my Elizabeth. The 'son' called Walter is actually the son of Elizabeth Elton/Fred Lee.
William and Jane had children: Alfred, Elizabeth, William, Samuel and Arthur that I know of, there could have been more.
Elizabeth married Fred Lee of Stonton Wyville between 1874-77. Their children were: Walter, Roseanna, Abraham, Emma, Jane, William, Hannah, Sam, Arthur, Elizabeth, Violet and Louisa[my great gran].
I have loads of info on the Lee side but nothing else of the Eltons. I know they were a large family mainly in the Coalville/Swannington/Whitwick areas and all the blokes were coalminers.
If any of this is any help to your friend, please feel free to pass it on.
Cheers for now - Wendy
