Hi, Cousin. Let me add my 2 cents worth...

Norma and I have been able to trace our Elsworth ancestors back to NORMAN ELSWORTH (b. 10 May 1817, Cayuga Co., NY; died 21 Aug 1890, Reno Co., KS). We are descended from Norman's 2nd wife.

I wonder if Norman may have gone by another name (first or middle). His son, Norman Burdette Elsworth, went by the name Burd or Bertie all his life.

Wife #1: Philanthia L. Maynard. Married 17 Nov 1841, Calhoun Co., MI. Died 5 Apr 1851, Calhoun Co., MI.

Wife #2: NANCY ANN WILCOX. Birth unknown. Married 1851-1853. (No marriage records can be found in Barry or St. Joseph Co. courthouses.) Died of smallpox 8 Dec 1872, Burr Oak Twp., St. Joseph Co., MI.

Wife #3: Ann B. Evarts. Married 8 June 1873, Branch Co., MI. Died after 1890.

Children of Norman & Nancy: Alice Hester (abt 1854-1932), Clarence Lamar (1857-1936), and NORMAN BURDETTE (1861-1949).

Norman and Ann (wife 3) moved to Langdon Twp., Reno Co., KS, in 1880. Norman died 21 Aug 1890. Ann may have moved back to MI (research ongoing).

Anyone who can add info or give some good clues will be appreciated! Thanks!
John :-)
