Hi, Murray in NZ

Also descended from Richard Elston and Joan Wreford.
Son Thomas Elston who married Elizabeth Pope.
His son Thomas (1727) who married Mary Southcott.

Richard Elston's parents were Nathaniell Elston (1638-1700) and Joane

Styling (1631- ) Nathaniel was baptized 1 Apr 1638 in Shobrooke, Devon,

and Joane Styling on 8 May 1631 in Shobrooke. They married 7 Mar 1658/59 at

Saint Sidwell, Exeter, Devon.

Joane's parents were Richard Styling (no info) and Thomazine Woode, baptized

17 Dec 1598 in Shobrooke. Thomazine's parents were William Woode and Margret

Mortymer, who married 3 Feb 1590/91 at Shobrooke.

Nathaniell Elston's parents are a little more speculative. I am fairly

confident about Thomas Elson (sic) baptized 22 Dec 1611 in Crediton, and

buried 26 Nov 1687 in Morchard Bishop. His wife Ann was buried 15 Dec 1678

in Morchard Bishop. It looks as if Nathaniell went from Shobrooke to

Morchard Bishop as a young man, and his parents came to stay with him when

Nathaniell's sister Grace (baptized 1630) married a John Tremblett whose

descendants went off to Australia.

If you search for Elstons in Morchard Bishop, you will find

discussions between me and Bruce Smith, descended from my branch, as well as

a descendant from Grace. Perhaps you have seen these already.
