As we can all see, the name changes according to who wrote the record. I have an instance of a family born in Bath, England around 1809 who had a mother with three different spellings of her forename and the offspring two quite different spellings of the surname....one Elsbury and the other Ellsburgh. Both registered with the same father!
Another entry of a different family states 'Elesbury or Ellsbury' so, take heart and keep searching.
I am trying to database every Elsbury and similar who has ever lived, a mamouth task but every bit of help is appreciated.
Let us all share this info. Any help that I can offer will be freely given, though the USA and CANADA are new to me so far. Greetings to the 'Family'
