I think Jacob was the son of Benjamin in Wilks Co Go in 1785, brother to Captain Michael Elsberry,Joseph, Benjamin Jr.and possibly Jeramiah He appeared in Oglethorpe Co tax records until 1800 then appeared in Wilkinson Co. Mississippi from 1810 until 1838. Died in 1840 at 80 years. Others in the area were were Southerd, Nancy and Michael. Michael dropped out of the tax records about 1825. A Michael Elsbury appeared in Crittenden Co Ar about 1827 but not after 1835 Then in Perry Co. Ar in 1838 until about 1845. He had Isaiah, Joseph, Michael and Pamelia. The 1850 census for Perry Co. Ar listed them as 25,22,19,and 13 in the above order and showed the boys as born in Mississippi. I have good information after 1850. Would appreciate any help and will be happy to share.
Bill Elsberry
