Hi Ron
I,m Elsberry researcher that has a little inf. about the brothers of John Luckie Elsberry that was killed by Black Jack Ketchum . His twin Monroe Lafayette was born in Jefferson Twp, Jackson Co Georgia Apr 22 1854 and was murderd while alseep, by an unknown assassin, on Sep 18 1884 and is unmarried.
John also had a brother James D Elsberry born Apr 18 1849 in Georgia that was killed by an unknown assissan who called him to the door.
I do not know if they were killed in Texas, Arkansas or Georgia. The Elsberry family moved to Arkansas before John Luckie came to Texas.
Monroe Lafayette is on the Hempstead Co Arkansas census in 1880 and i beleave his brother John Luckie is in San Jacinto Co 1880.
Family lore is that one of his brothers murders killed the wrong brother before killing the right one.
John,s brothers death may be why he became a peace officer.
My Elsberry family moved to Brown Co Texas after living in Akansas.
