I'm a professor at Fla. State U., and for many years I've been collecting for eventual publication the descendants of Col. John Washington (gr-grandfather of Pres. George Washington). I hope very much that we can exchange data. My files of Washington descendants include the following family (I'm hoping that "my" Andrew Elsberry is "your" "Andrew Jackson Elsberry"). Can you possibly confirm a connection?

They had 10 children: twins who were b. and d. ca. 1853; Richard Elsberry [b. in Bates Co., Mo., 1855]; Virginia Elsberry [b. ibid. June 7, 1857; d. in Lincoln Co., Mo., July 10, 1888]; Olivia Elsberry [b. in Bates Co., Mo., June 29, 1863 and d. ibid. March 29, 1929]; John Elgin Elsberry [b. in Lincoln Co., Mo., May 3, 1869; d. 1927]; James Elsberry [b. 1874 and d. in Sacramento, Cal., 1937]; Robert Elsberry [b. in Troy, Cass Co., Mo., 1877]; and unnamed twins [b. and d. in Cass Co., Mo., ca. 1879]).
