I'm looking for any relatives of my gg-g'ma ALICE ELLSBURY, born abt 1857 or 1861 in IA. According to her death certificate, her father's name was John and he was from England. 1880 Census also lists England as her father's birthplace. Her mother's name is unknown. Did she have siblings?
Alice had a son listed in the 1880 Mitchell Co, IA Census, BERTY THOMAS.
She married WILL W ROSE from Osage, Mitchell Co, IA about 1881. They had one daughter, MYRTLE ARTEMISIA ROSE, who was born in 1882 in Motley, Morrison Co, MN. The family moved right back to the same farm in Mitchell Co, IA, around the early 1890's.
ALICE's death certificate was from Salem, OR. Her last name was then POTTER.
I have been unable to locate and verify any other info regarding siblings or step-children who were listed in her obit from May 1936:
ANNA CARSON Klamath Falls, OR.
NELLIE FREAUF Oakland, CA.
WILLIAM WALLACE BROWN,at sea (Merchant Marines, we think, & he and 2nd wife, LU, had dau named JUNE, 1st wife was named ELLY. He retired as a prison guard from Ft. Madison?, IA).
BERT BROWN, St Louis (he worked at Sears for many years & had son named HUGH).
MYRTLE RICHARDSON, Osage, IA. - this is my g-g'ma.
We believe another step(?)dau, LILLIE married MERT HUTCHCROFT from Cedar Rapids, IA. They had 4 children.
Can anyone connect to any of these people? I cannot find records or relatives to corroborate most of this info. I have just a couple of pictures with names on them.
Mason City is in the neighborhood - do any of these people sound familiar? Thank you for any and all leads you may have!

Brenda
