I found a wonderful work that includes the Elsbury/Elsberry's, and associated lines, including that of George Washington
It is THE WASHINGTON ANCESTRY and Records of the McClain, Johnson, and Forty Other Colonial American Families; Prepared for Edward Lee McClain by Charles Arthur Hoppin, in three volumes; Greenfield, OH: privately printed 1932.
It tracks the descendants of Christopher and Lydia (Elsberry) Woolback/Walbach, from Maryland to Ohio - and then some.
I found these books at the MCI Genealogical Library in Independence, Missouri - they are a lending library.
