Gabino Mata

My grabdfather, Salvador Mata Suarez (b. 1901), was the son of Gabino Mata and Delores Suarez. Mata owned land in El Salvador. Coffee plantations, I believe. D. Suarez and G. Mata divorced in 1905. She went with my grandfather to family in California. My grandfather returned to El Salvador to his father breifly, but they fought, ending with disowning each other around 1920. I know Gabino Mata remarried and had children but that is all. I would like to know of my ancestry, more than the stories of bad blood. My grandfather passed when I young to ask questions. I am hoping that since Gabino Mata was a landowner, there might be substantial written record on him. Should anyone have information or suggestions on where to look, please advise.
