I am very grateful for the Elms/Spratt info you went. I'm trying to document my husband's mother's Elms line to Thomas Spratt and wife Mary Clark who had 7 dau and 1 son, Thomas. Son Thomas had two sons Thomas and James. Only James outlived his father. The g/f of my husband's mother, Mary Sula Abernathy Hayes, (her mother was Lucy Susan Elms) was John Wm. Elms in 1880 census as a widower w/ Lucy Susan Elms in his HH. Charles Elms Spratt is in the HH of James Spratt living in Pineville. Do you have info that would connect her Elms w/ the Spratt family. I know the Elms and Spratts lived close together. I have sent your Elsm info to Alden Davis who is on the documentating committee for Ole Mecklenburg Genealogy Society. It is expected this project will take five years. They are documenting all Mecklenburg Co ancestors they can find. Of course, as first families they need all the Elms/Spratt info available. I learned that some of the tombstones in the "Mercy Hosp" area were moved in the 1950's to First Presby Church w/ a list of those markers. I know first family Barnet were among them. Many thanks. I appreciate any help. Notify Administrator about this message?
