I have traced my family back to 1882 when George Elms married Caroline Humpheris.
George's father was John Elms and I have managed to locate a family of Elms on the 1881 UK census. The information I have is as follows
John Elms b abt 1837 m ? Selena b abt 1835
They had children
george b abt 1859 (who we think had a twin Frank).
George married Caroline Humpheris 25th June 1882, they had at least 1 child Henry John Thomas
other Children of john and Selena that we know about were
Eliza, Sarah and Kate. There is a big age gap between george/ Frank and the others so we suspect there were more who had already left home.
There appears to be many Elms families around the Kington area in 1881 and I would be delighted to hear from anybody who can either tie in or knows more
