Elms Family Genealogy Forum

Hi, Susie, Glad to see you on line. There were at least two unrelated Elms families in Fort Worth as I grew up. I can always remember seeing Elms names in the Fort Worth phone book that were not related to us. There was our group and another group we didn't know.
Our great grandfather, Euseby John was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1852 and died in Dallas, TX 30 Dec. 1836. I've been told he was a cabin boy and jumped ship in Galveston rather than return to fight in some rebellion. He made his way to Corsicana, TX and was the engineer on the first train to go into Dallas. Euseby and Mary had 9 children, Thomas, Joseph, Mary, Edwin, Elicia, Euseby John, Loretta, Margarita, & Lucille. Only our grandfather, Joseph Jackson, settled in Fort Worth and had little contact with his siblings in Dallas.
I would like to learn about the Dallas Elms family as I know some of them have been back to Ireland.
