William Elmore/Frances Jones - VA/1700s

Looking for origins and family of William Elmore. His daughter Nancy Elmore Griffitts was born 28 Jul 1816 in Hanover County VA. Family lore has William as the first cousin of Patrick Henry. Who knows? This is anecdotal info onlay and I only throw this in because there seem to have been several William Elmores in VA. Nancy was married in Milton, Cabell County VA [now WV] but I do not know if the whole family was there or not. Any info is appreciated.
