I am working on my Northrop genealogy and believe there has to be some Elmore connection.
My Great Grandfather GEORGE ELMORE NORTHROP (Alvin, Amos), b. Feb. 17, 1844, Cornwall, CT, lived at Southport, CT and his nephew(Frederick ELMORE Northrop, b. Sept. 2, 1871, Southport s/o William Fenn Northrop) bear the Elmore name.
George's father (My GG Grandfather, Alvin Northrop (s/o Amos b.~1778) b.1803, location ?, lived at Kent, CT, Shoemaker, was married to Sarah Wakeman Alvord (Kent) and moved to Westport, CT (sarah's father's birthplace) about 1850. Other family names: Jennings, Ives.
Has anyone come across any Northrop/Northrup connections? Probably in Northwest CT, Hudson River Area, NY or Berkshire Co., MA.
