Stan, My name is Melody. I would love to get any information you have. I believe I may be able to help you with this problem. I will send you my files on the Proffitts and what I have on the Elmores. Elizabeth Elmore b.1760 in VA married William Proffitt b.7-8-1759 in Goochland VA. they married on 1-10-1783 in Wilkes NC. William is a son of the Rev. John Proffitt. He had a church in Wilkes called Beaver Creek Church of Christ. I am currently getting info direct from the church via my sister who lives in the area of NC where most of these people hailed from.
