John Henry Elmore b.1828 probably in
Sampson County, N.C. and listed in the 1850
Sampson County census living with Delitha
Adams was my gg grandfather. He married Lucinda Williford. Family lore says
he was brought down or came down from the
"North" with a group of slaves. No information on him prior to the 1850 census
has been found. Delitha Adams is found in the 1860 census living with Barnum and Lucy Sills who were born in Virginia. My hope is
that they were all related and someone will
have information John Henry, Delitha, or the
Sills family that will help with John Henry's
parents. I have all of John Henry Elmore's
descendents if anyone would like that information.
