Marsha - Thanks for your reply. The Elmore name was imporant in Pinal, AZ mining during the 1880's. The patriarch was Andrew who played a minor role. Two other Elmore's who may be related to Andrew were Riverious P. and DuBois T. Elmore. James H. (Ft. Howard, Wisconsin and later the mayor of Green Bay in the 1890's) was associated with several mining ventures and in particular the Silver King, Pinal & Gila River Rainroad Co. (Arizona). Was he related to Andrew? Another Elmore is Lyman (Brother to Riverious) from NYC who was the president of the Mount View Consolidated Silver Mining Co. of NY). Per the 1850 Census in Ulster, NY:
Lyman Elmore 46 (Believe this to be Samuel L. Elmore)
Fanny 47 (Fanny Hammond)
Charles 22
Olive J. 20
Amanda 18
Lyman, Jr. 16 (Some LDS records listed his Parents as Samuel L. Elmore and Fanny Hammond)
Riverious 14
Alexander 12
Selina 10
Manuel M. 8
There is another name (not Elmore) which I cannot make out age 16 living in the same household.

It appears there is a Samuel Elmore, and a G.R., in Arizona in 1880, but I have looked at those census records yet.

Another LDS record show an Andrew E. Elmore whose parents were Job G. Elmore and Phebe DuBois. I'm guessing that DuBois may have been Andrew's son named after his mother>

That's all the pieces I have at the moment. Any further enlightenment is very welcome.
