Just guessing, but there is a Stephen in my database. Third child of William Elmer and Mary Allison. William and Mary had four children; Micah, Horace, Stephen and Sarah.
William was the son of Dr. Nathaniel Elmer and Anne (Anna) Thompson.
Nathaniel was born 2-17-1733 in Windsor, Hartford, CT which puts Stephen about the right age for the one you are looking for.
My notes do not contain supporting information, but seems reasonable.
