WOW!! Okay, where to start...,
My Ellwood tree starts with a Matthew Ellwood (born bet 1817 ans 1818 in Brampton in Cambridgeshire, England; Died abt 1870). He married an Ann Teasdale in 1853 who died bet 1858 and 1871 (birth not known)

I know of two children (but I know that there are more) - Thomas (born bet 1846 and 1848; died after 1877) and John (born 26 march 1858 in Ontario, Died 12 July 1942). John Married a Jane Canning (born:13 feb 1868, died 1-apr-1932). They had 5 kids MATTHEW, ROBERT CANNING, WILBERT, JOHN, ROSE. I have some information on all of these kids, and am in contact with decendents of both John and Rose.

Robert Canning Ellwood is my mother's father's father, and so I have a lot of information on this branch.

Aside from some slightly different date differences in the first few people, I think we have the same family, only different branches. Based on an 1871 Census from Ontario, Middlesex North Country McGillivray Township, Matthew was 53.

I would love to hear from you to compare notes.

Please email me at jmatthie@yahoo.ca

Regards,
John Matthiesen
