The Benjamin Elsworth born 1788 is probably the one in Dutchess Co., NY and baptising children in Poughkeepsie.

The Benjamin Elsworth of Ulster Co., Ny who is thought to be the same Benjamin probably can't be the same.

In Tax Assessment List for the County of Ulster, 1716/7
Precinct of Highlands Widdow Elsworth £5 -Denis Relje £3

In 1728 Freeholders of Ulster Co., NY there is 2 Elsworth's for the whole county. James Elsworth and Benjamin Elsworth in "the high Land". Benjamin's son James is to young to be this James so he would probably be a brother or father to Benjamin. But since there is a Wodow Elsworth in 1716 the James is probably a brother to Benjamin.
Benjamin can't be the son of Johannes "John" Elsworth and
Aeltje Roose. Aeltje died in 1796 and can't be the Widow Elsworth in 1716.
