Connie: My husband's grandfather was George Elmer Ellsworth b. in Eldon, Wapello Co., Iowa on August 6, 1866; d. Oneonta, Alabama on April 16, 1946; m. in Pauline, Nebraska to Ida Bell Baker,b. Ohio on July 13, 1866,d. November 9, 1924. Mrs. Ellsworth buried in Pauline, Nebraska. Their children:
1. Edward Harrison Ellsworth;b.Pauline, Nebraska, August 24, 1888;d.abt. 1945 Winchester, Idaho, m.August 16, 1937 in Oneonta, Alabama to Pearl Price.
2. John Burton Ellsworth;b.Pauline, Nebraska, November 4, 1890;m.(1st)in Chadron, Nebraska on March 1, 1917 to Maude S. Thornton, m.(2nd)in Sedan, Kansas on January 30, 1947 to Lucia Edna Goodykoontz.
3.Jesse Elmer Ellsworth; b. Lone Jack, Missouri,March 28, 1895; m. Oneonta, Alabama on November 16, 1938 to Ruby Elisabeth Price. (this is my husband's parents)
4.Bertha Bell Ellsworth;b.February 27, 1898.
5. Alvira May Ellsworth;b. Pauline,Nebraska, January 5, 1902. She was married several times. 1st-George Emmett Gilpin; 2nd- Jesse Elmore Walker;3rd- George Higbee Hughes; 4th- Roy Cleveland Simpson; 5th- Robert Neilson. Her first son Herbert Elmer Gilpin was adopted by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Elmer Ellsworth.
6.Dora Ellsworth ;b. April 7, 1907; d.Menlo, Kansas in August 1907
7. Herbert Elmer (Gilpin) Ellsworth;b. March 27, 1919 in Pauline, Nebraska; m. in Oneonta, Alabama on October 9, 1943 to Ida Luetta Price.
We have a book that has direct male linage back to Moses and Anna Maria Elizabeth (Henckel) Ellsworth (1730-1802).
