Hi Jody, thanks for the response. During the past week I had pretty well resolved the Eelstown bit with a bit of research on Ely. Then I foung a couple of sites that more or less confirmed it. Almost like reinventing the wheel. Re my connection, my mother was Hazel Julia Ellsworth from Pigeon Hill Quebec. Her line like yours, was John and Lucia to Sgt. Josiah and Elizabeth , then to Thomas with Sarah Mills, to William with Mary Oliver, then Oliver with Methitable Warner. From there I am in my old stomping grounds of Northern Vermont with Dr. William Clement Ellsworth and Pamela Searle, to Cassius Wirt Ellsworth with Mary Ann Tittemore (he was killed at the battle of Petersburg), then to Deforest Morat Ellsworth and Julia Stephenie Richard, then Stephen Cassius Ellsworth and Edna Elen Prairie, and then to my mother Hazel Julia Ellsworth. So, we do have a common connection but some time back. My source information back to Olover is quite good. Prior to that I have relied on "cousins" that I have met primarily here on this site. Next month I will be back in the Eastern Townships of Quebec and Northern Vermont photographing more headstones, so the quest goes on. Again, thanks for the response and all the best. Keith. A ps: do you have any verifiable information on the line prior to Josiah? Seems to be a lot of discussion re the authenticity of his line. k.
