I'm trying to track down the ancestors of my GGF. Elmer Ellsworth seems to be a popular name about mid 1800s, so it seems likely that he is related to the Ellsworth line somewhere. James married Bertie Mae Sefton and they had son Harold Marlette Ruddell b.11Nov1985 who lived most of his life in Decatur County Indiana. Any ideas? Does anyone know why this name was so popular?
