Am through the Jonathon/Deborah Canfield line. I too had the info you had from a book [1911] by German Ellsworth [Ellsworth's of Mass, Conn, and New York]. Now, there is a controversy about Henry/Henricus. No proof was ever found that his wife's last name was Curtis/Curtiss - I have visited her tomb and it just says Hannah. There is a will of a Joseph Coleman who names Henry Elsworth as a son in law of his daughter, Hannah Coleman. Henry also stands up with Joseph when he married a second time. So it could be that Hannah was Hannah Coleman not Curtis. It would seem that the back lineage - Henry to Samuel is ok...
Lots of work being done "Beekman Patent" of Orange County, New York and there is another researcher that is questioning German's early lineages for Ellsworths...always glad to share what I can document...
