Hi, I'm descended from William Henry Ellsworth of Mobile, AL. He was born in 1876 Mobile, AL and son of Henry Ellsworth born in 1848 in AL according to the 1880 census. The census is online at the Mormon Family Search website. According to family tradition they were originally from England and in the 1880 census, Henry's father was born in England and his mother born in Ireland. There is a George Ellsworth also in Mobile 1880 census born in England and 61 yrs. old. The earlist marriage records that I've found both under Elsworth and Ellsworth were in the mid 1800's...1840..1850's. It was pretty common for Mobilians during that period to go to New Orleans and Point Coupee. You may want to check out this line of Ellsworth's from Mobile, AL. Hope this helps. I don't have much on this line yet.
