In Reply to: Henry [1742] and Hannah Coleman not Curtis by Patsy Ellsworth Carruth of 1923

My notes on Hannah (Curtis?) Coleman:
Hannah Coleman was the daughter of Joseph Coleman, of Goshen, Orange Co. NY
marriage certainly took place no later than 1771/1772 and perhaps as early as 1764/1765 (if she was his only wife)

marriage is proven by the Will of Joseph Coleman of Goshen Precinct, Orange Co. NY (Orange County Will Lib.B., pg. 210), which cites Hannah, wife of Henry Elsworth, as "my daughter" as a beneficiary. This Hannah Coleman b. 1739, was Joseph Coleman's eldest child.

Goshen Presbyterian Church records: 11 July 1779, Joseph Coleman married Mary Salmon. This was the second marriage of Joseph Coleman and the witness to the marriage was Henry Elsworth, his son-in-law.
