William Ellsworth, Onondaga Co., N.Y., 1830

I am trying to place William Ellsworth, who was living in Onondaga County, New York, in 1830. In his household were two males less than 5 years, one male age 20-30, and one female age 20-30. Apparently, William Ellsworth was born between 1800 and 1810.

Right next door was a John Ellsworth, in whose household were one male age 5-10, one male age 10-15, one male age 15-20, two males age 20-30, one male age 50-60, one female age 15-20, and one female age 50-60. It seems that John Ellsworth was born between 1770 and 1780.

One possibility is that John Ellsworth was William Ellsworth's father. This idea is supported by an 1846 deed in the Onondaga County courthouse, Deed Book 91, page 47, which concerns the sale of some land in Onondaga County by the heirs of John Ellsworth to a certain S. Kingsley. Some heirs and tenants of John Ellsworth, deceased October 10, 1839, are mentioned: Henry Ellsworth, Josiah Ellsworth, David Ellsworth, Andrew Auringer, William Ellsworth, Alonzo Ellis. It at least appears that Henry, Josiah, David, and William Ellsworth were sons of John Ellsworth.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Was William Ellsworth the son of John Ellsworth? If so, who was John's father? How do these Ellsworths fit in?
