Hello Mel,

Judiah Ellsworth was the son of Arthur Aylesworth and Mary Franklin and the grandson of Arthur Aylsworth and Mary Brown. Judiah's genealogy is in the Arthur Aylsworth and his descendents book. Judiah lived W. Greenwich and was elected justice of the peace 1760. He was married twice; Ruth Draper dau of Thomas and second to Widow Rosanna (Edwards) Stafford, dau of Johathan Edwards. Judiah moved to Pownal in 1780where he died July 1800. His wife died at Saratoga NY on July 1809.

My family is Arthur, Arthur,(as is yours) then I have Philip, James, Jasper, John, Eliphalet, Dewey, and Nathan Ellsworth who is my father. My grandmother wrote a letter to a relative and said that Col. Ellsworth was a cousin but I have not been able to find a direct link. My grandfather, Dewey had 2 brothers named Elmer and Charley just as Col. Ellsworth's family.

I am interested in any information about James. He is supposed to have been married twice Lois Harrington and Rhoda Jenks. Have checked in Pownal and cannot find any of their deaths. Their son, Jasper was the first white settler in Peterboro, Madison Co., NY

Hope to hear from you!
