I am looking for information on John Knoles Ells, born in Biddenden, Kent, England about 1805. A blacksmith by trade, he married Sarah Monday.
The family emigrated to Nova Scotia about 1827, and went on to (Oswego co.,) NY and Rock co., Wisconsin. Known children were John, Andrew, Mary, George E., Thomas E., Alfred, Sarah A., Joseph, Ruth A., and William. Two sons died in the Civil War.
After living in Minnesota and Iowa, Sarah and Ruth, who married men named Colwell, and Joseph Ells went to Washington State. Alfred Ells went to San Diego, California.
