Once again,
it has been a long time since you have posted the message.

The only thing that I can tell you about my grandfather, John Henry, is that he was a rancher in TX, a carpenter in OK, and that he moved to Wichita to care for an elderly woman in his later years. He is buried at Sunset Memorial Park in Ponca City, OK along with his wife, my grandmother, Bonnie. My parents, JB & Maurine are in the same cemetery.

I did try to get my Dad to tell me a little about his grandfather, but the only thing that I could get out of him is that he walked with a cane and would bop him over the head with it sometimes. So, that may tell you that the rumor is untrue about him "running off" (Francis Marion) as
he was there at least for his grandchildren.
