Sue, I wonder if this Ellison was connected to James and John Barnes that married Quakers from PA. Both had sons named Edward but I believe I came through James son Edward Barns. Edward had a daughter named Catherine Louisa that married James Riley Gentry in Monroe county TN. in 1838. Catherine was born in 1817. She named one son, Riley Ellison. I thought she named him after her grandparents since her mother may have been Jane Terrell. John and James lived in Burke county North Carolina after land opened up there. They lived near the Terrells and Barnes' researchers found proof Jane, Edward's wife, was a Terrell. Hope you can me. Ronnie
