I made a new-to-me discovery..There were 2 Watson Ellisons in Walton, Co GA. One was listed in 1820 and was listed as age 45 and upwards with a female also age 45 and upwards, and four children..1 male under 10, 1 male 16-26, 1 female under 10, and 1 female 16-26. And 2 slaves, 1 male 26-45 and 1 female 14-26 if I counted my columns correctly. In 1830 there was a Watson Ellerson(Ellison) listed in Walton Co GA..The only Watson Ellerson/Ellison listed, and he was listed as age 20-30, with 1 female, age 15-20. No children. No slaves listed. This would have to be the Watson Ellison who married Elizabeth Stone, as per their 1830 marriage record of Walton, GA. Then in 1840 there is a Watson Ellison age 30-40 with 1 female, age 20-30, 1 male under 5, 1 male 5-10, 2 females under 5, 2 females 5-10, and 10 slaves: 3 males under 10, 1 male 10-24, 3 females under 10, 2 females 10-24, and 1 female 36-55. I find only one Watson Ellison in GA in 1850, and he is in Broom Town Valley, Chatooga, GA at age 23 with a young wife Catherine and a baby, Thomas B. No slaves. Obviously not he same Watson as above. In 1860 I find Watson Ellison in Walker Co, GA, age 49, with Elizabeth, age 46 with children: Frederick T., age 19 Philo "P" (should be B.) age 17 Watson, age 15 Elizabeth A., age 5 James W. age 2. No slaves. Right next door is F.M. Ellison, age 29 Elizabeth, age 28 and children: John age 5 David age 4 Henry T. age 1 No slaves. Right next door to F.M. Ellison is Johnithan(Jonathan) Ellison, age 40 Lemira (?) A., age 33 Kitta, age 7 Webster, age 5 Elizabeth age 1 No slaves. In 1870 I find Watson Ellison, age 59 (Transcriber has 62) Elizabeth age 56 Elizabeth A. age 14 James W. age 12 **John, age 16}Formerly with F.M. Ellison **David age 13}Formerly with F.M. Ellison **Henry age 11}Formerly with F.M. Ellison Janie, age 8 Graves, age 34. No slaves. Now, it appears that from 1830 to 1870 it's all the same Watson Ellison, with the exception of 1850. According to some of the family tree info I have seen on ancestry.com, There was a Watson Ellison of SC who was born 1747 or that vicinity, and who died in Walton, GA in 1826..I suspect that is the one listed in 1820 who was 45 or older. I am hoping someone reading this post will recognize the younger Watson Ellison and the children listed with him and with F.M. and Jonathan. I expect this Watson was the son of the older Watson listed in 1820. Younger Watson would have been 9 or 10 at that time. I would also like to know what relation F.M. and Jonathan were to each other and to Watson, and I would dearly love to know where they all were in 1850.. Apparently this Watson Ellison was acquainted with the Potts family, as a Josiah Potts was living right next door to Watson in 1870. Josiah was 79 and *retired*. Anyone willing to share information with me, please know it will be appreciated greatly. Thank you. Notify Administrator about this message?
