I am looking for the parents and sibligs of JAMES AUSTIN ELLISON, b. June 1859 in Virginia. According to the census records, his parents were also born in Virginia. He died between August 25th, 1920 and January 20th, 1920, possibly in Philadelphia, PA. Married about 1886, CARMEN AZCARATE, b. in New York City, NY on July 30, 1864. CARMEN'S parents were born in Cuba. In 1900, they resided in Camden, Camden County, New Jersey. In 1910, they were living in Cape May City, Cape May County, New Jersey. In 1920, they could be found in Wissonoming Twsp., 41st Ward of Philadelphia, PA.
Known children of theirs were: 1. GENNETT or GANNETT or GANNETTE TAYLOR ELLISON, b. in NJ in July 1889, 2. HOMER ELLISON, b. in NJ in June 1892 married MABEL CONOVER, 3. MERCEDES ELLISON, b. in Jersey City, Hudson County, NJ on January 19, 1894 married HOWARD BANKERT SENIOR (NOTE: SENIOR was his surname), 4. JAMES AUSTIN ELLISON, JR., b. in New York City, NY on March 1, 1896, 5. ERNESTINE ELLISON, b. about 1901, 7. BESSIE ELLISON (NOTE: BESSIE may be a nickname for ELIZABETH), b. about 1903. There were three other children born to JAMES AUSTIN & CARMEN (AZCARATE) ELLISON, but I don't know their names, genders or if they died in infancy.
