It's me again.I'm going to outline this to simplifyMy father left us when I was5+ in '24 just before my sis was born--decided he didn't want responsibility of family- I was told( noone told us "anything" in thosedays Ha I knew he was born in Dudley England 1887 and have a few pictures.After Mom died in '69 I got to wondering if he was still alive.'71 I went to FBI Missing persons.They knew him by 3 namesHe never got citizenship papers and had to register every Jan. from '40 on. Alien office called him in in '54when they realized he used more than one name.He admitted the second name was ficticious just used Westwood to come to US. and used it here.Genealogist for Gramma's family told me to send the 3 names to Dudley library. They didn't have time to search but did call registrar and he determind which was birth name, and I sent for birth certificate had 2 notes from care person signed by him with 3rd name..I finally located him in Oakland.Last month my daughter went to England to visit her daughter going to school at a castle with classmate from St. Cloun Mn college.They went to Dudley between trains and found names of his brothers and sisters and hired a searcher to look further.Found marriage records where if I read it right he may have married in 1913 and left in 1915-changed name and came here.Whateveranyway you might try FBI or try somewhere to get his social security number???Keep tryingI have stuff on Genforum and RootswebSorry this got so longMuriel;
