Re Atkins Ellis -- 1, 2, & 3.In order to help you keep them straight, I'll give you what I have so far and perhaps you'll find the key that makes them fit in as three generations of the same family.Or perhaps you'll prove that the first two Atkins Ellis's aren't the ancestors of the 3rd one (mine).Good luck and I'll be anxious to see what you find out.Have not been to St. Albans Town Office, but have been to the cemetery on Mountain/Bigelow Road (old dirt road) in St. Albans where Elizabeth was buried. Her stone says, "Wife of Atkins Ellis".There was no stone for any of the Atkins Ellis's.
Atkins Ellis, (#1) b. 1752 was married to Patience Chase in Harwich, MA in 1772 and then to Elizabeth Cyphers Braley in St. Albans in 1823.He died in St. Albans in 1833.
Atkins Ellis (#2) b. before 1787, probably in Harwich, MA, married Betsy Church about 1812 in Industry, ME. I believe he had moved there around 1796.
Atkins Ellis (#3) b. abt 1820 in Ripley or St. Albans and married Esther Church in 1840 in St. Albans.Their daughter was Emmeline Ellis, my gggrandmother. This is the only one that I'm sure is related to me.
Thank you for your help.
