Hello Eileen, Nancy Catherine Ellis as you know had a younger brother named Albert Taylor Ellis. He enlisted in the 1st West Tennessee Regiment (Union) in August of 1862.He was captured by Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest at Trenton, TN., on December 20, 1862 and paroled and was waiting to be exchanged in Columbus, Ohio.He would die of pneumonia at Camp Chase in February of 1863.He was buried in grave number 77 at the Southeast City Cemetery at Columbus, Ohio by Brotherlin and Halms (government contracted undertakers) Since both Union and Confederate soldiers were buried there a mistake was made.In May of 1869 Captain Irving of the quartermasters department removed his body and re-interred him to the Confederate Cemetery at Camp Chase where his body was double buried with a Confederate soldier in grave #2102.Taylor Ellis was a loyal United States Soldier who now rests with his former enemies at the Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio.
