Not about him living in the Indian Lands.I have him born in 1784 in Buffalo Ridge, TN and marrying Ann Matlock.Death is listed as 20 May 1854, Washington County, TN.What I'm hoping to determine is if Ezekiel was the stepson or biological son of Jemima Lane Ellis.
I show that Jemima and her husband, John Ellis, had a daughter Ruth born in 1785, which would have made Ezekiel just one year old when his little sister was born. This would have have been a very quick re-marriage and birth on the part of John if Ezekiel was in fact the son of John's first wife who, as I understand it, was tomahawked to death with all of her youngest children by Native Americans in North Carolina. If all of her youngest children were killed in this attack then, while possible that a baby (Ezekiel) was allowed to live, it seems unlikely.
