Felix Ellis and wife Martha Hickman of S.C., Pickens Co., Ala., Winston Co., Ms., grandson died at Franklin, Tn., 13 miles south of Nashville, Tn. If the family wishes to visit his grave, he is buried in the family cemetery at the Canton Plantation. The cemetery is in the front lawn of Canton Mansion, Alanzo James Ellis is buried in the Mississippi Section, just on the right as you enter the cemetery gate. His name is on his grave marker. I just visited the cemetery several years ago not knowing he was there, it was a chilling felling when I read his name, for I knew he was killed at the battle of Franklin, and assumed his body was buried in a mass burial after the battle. If you ever travel around Nashville, or travel I-65 south of Nashville, visit the cemetery-Canton Plantation is a beautiful place to visit 1800s era. Gerald Barnell Fowler
