can someone tell me who this richard ellis was per these lunenburg co, va deeds, etc, who is indicated to have been in both amelia co, va and lunenburg co, va and who was involved with both samuel harris; edward harris; and the wades?
was he related to hampton wade's wife who is said to have been jean/ jane ellis, daughter of john ellis?
per lunenburg co, va deed book 5, page 346, 1750, samuel harris, executor of the estate of adlar david, sells to robert wade, sr 100 acres on difficult creek adjacent william irby.witnesses:hampton wade; richard ellis.
per lunenburg co, va deed book 7, page 148, 1760, re the estate of alexander cocke of amelia co, va:as there has been many disputes; controversies between alexander cocke of amelia co, va and with jesse brown of lunenburg relating to lands, richard ellis; abraham cocke; and stephen cocke, executors, enter in a bond with jesse brown to abide by the division by henry ward in amelia co and of lydall bacon in lunenburg and if they disagree, hampton wade is to hear the disputes; it is ordered that the executors of alexander cocke pay jesse brown 90 pds, and to deliver to brown an order from francis smithson for 90; the quarrels between the parties must abate.signed:lydall bacon; hampton wade.
