I have begun researching my Elliott family out of Pittsylvania Co, VA. I descend from Elias Elliott (b. abt 1832) and his wife Panthea Overby. Elias's mother was Elizabeth -- maiden name unknown. It appears that Elias's father may have died young leaving her with 2 children. As early as 1840, Elizabeth shows up as head of household on the census. I would be very interested any information on this family.
